We made huge progress on the downstairs bedroom last night and today! Will stayed up late last night rearranging the furniture and this afternoon, we worked on clearing out and filing away all of the stray randomness that remained. To fully appreciate the transition, here are the before pictures.
Here is the view from the doorway now. (At the end of the desk area is the filing cabinet. I spent much of the afternoon filing. Oh my Lord! What a mess. But it is all filed and we actually have a system now.)
Looking to the right from the doorway - guest bed for grandparents or anyone that wants to visit us (hint, hint! :) ):
This is next to the doorway. Alas, the ironing board is put up, so we can no longer (pretend to) iron at a moment's notice. We are using the chest (was in our bedroom) to store office and computer supplies.
My favorite part is that we (1) got rid of our old non-working computer, (2) we plugged in Charlie's old computer (thank you, Charlie!), and (3) Will found an awesome deal at Staples today on LCD monitors - so we have TWO MONITORS to work down here!! I am so thrilled and it is going to be a great spot to work where I can close the door (instead of trying to sit at the kitchen table on my laptop in the midst of chaos). I also like that we moved the computer over here under all of the shelves.
So, it looks like we actually have a functioning office/guest room. Hooray!
