Science Fair Prep

For the first time, Annika is entering the Wamego Science Fair this year! Her project is on which cat food our kittens prefer. The science fair itself is next weekend, which means there is no time like the present to get started. :)

Annika picked out four different kinds of cat food. She then ran 10 different trials with each cat separately to see which they would prefer. She also randomized the order of the bowls each time to assess if order affected the results.

Writing up results. Hypothesis: Kittens would prefer the Kitten Formula. Actual Results: Chicken and Wild Rice was the clear winner! No order effects emerged. :)

Will and Annika spent all afternoon with her science fair project, but took a break midway through to go walk Daisy.

While the other two were busy being scientists, Daniel and I had our own fun. First we went to the library to hit up the semi-annual book sale and check out more books. Next up - the mall! I needed to get new shoes and bribed Daniel with a ride at the end if he had good behavior while I was trying on shoes. :)

After the mall, we headed to Daniel's favorite attraction in town - The Flint Hills Discovery Center! D today declared it the best thing about Manhattan.

And finally, we grabbed a very late lunch at Texas Roadhouse. We arrived there at 3 p.m. and...had to wait for a table!? That place is crazy popular. But it was quite tasty and fun to throw peanut shells on the floor.
