Merry Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas Eve! We had a delightful day today. We woke up in Olathe at Grammy and Gramps's house, where we had spent the night. We then headed over to Tony and Suzanne's house - the kids were very excited to play with their cousins there. And they were even more excited to play with Christina's new toy, the Vtech Innotab 2. (We must remember this for Daniel's birthday.)

Abby and Meega (Mega? Mee-ga?) hanging out.

One of the coolest gifts that Grammie and Gramps bought for Christina and Tony was a pirate book. And not just any pirate book - a PERSONALIZED pirate book all about the kids. It can complete with a custom made Pirate Bandanna. Daniel is proudly sporting his "Cap'n Daniel" gear.

The kids enjoyed Grammie reading their personal pirate tale.

And a nice look for Daniel - a Pirate Eye Patch!

We then headed over to DeSoto for more Christmas Eve Fun. We hung out with Nonnie and Pa some before the big event started at 4 p.m. - we estimated there were around 25 people there. Everyone had drawn names for a gift exchange, but Nonnie got the kids something extra - Snuggle Buddies!

Will was impressed.

Daniel was very excited about his gift in the exchange - Alien Fishing Game!

I got in on the action with the Snuggle Buddies. Maybe I should wear this to lecture in next semester.

After fun in DeSoto, we drove back to Manhattan so that our kids could experience Christmas morning in our house. While I jetted off to a Candlelight Christmas Eve service, Will stayed home and diligently wrapped and wrapped presents. I joined him when I got home, and shortly before 2 a.m., we were ready to go! We even siphoned the kittens off to the basement for the night so they wouldn't destroy our fabulous Christmas tree and the presents.

And from a different view in the back.

A Happy Christmas to all, and to all, a good night!!
